Part 1 - Friulane Dolomites

The T66 Odyssey opens by heading north through the Friulane Dolomites, towards such fearsome names as the Zoncolan and the Monte Crostis. After stopping at Ovaro, we turn west towards Cortina d’Ampezzo, notable via the majestic Tre Cime. Into the heart of the Dolomites for a ‘feast of the famous’ ( Sella Ronde) and ending up in Belluno. From here our route points south to Bassano for another stage of ‘mountain indulgence’. It’s all about the Monte Grappa, so worthy of a stage all of it’s own! Northwards next, to Trento for our rest day via two Classic CCC favorites : Passo Manghen and Passo Vezzena.

Part 2 - National Lessina Park

Part Two opens with a dramatic stage in the National Lessina Park. This barren, remote high plateau region has a beauty all of it’s own. After a stop in Garda overnight, we take a ferry across Lake Garda and explore the massif between the lakes Garda and Iseo, culminating in a superb summit finish on Passo Maniva, where we stay overnight. From here we climb higher on a gravel section that takes us over five passes at over 2000m.

Part 3 - Passo Stelvio

Heading north now, we will arrive in Bormio via the Passo’s Vivione and the giant Passo Gavia. Finally the Passo Stelvio now finds it on our path, which we approach from the Swiss side. The Passo Mortirolo and Trivignio still await our efforts before we rest in Tirano. Our journey continues with some cheekily tough climbs on the slopes of the Valtellina valley before we tackle the mighty San Marco pass and it’s sensational descent to San Pellegrino Terme where this chapter ends.
